Everything Is, In Fact, Better With Chickens

TV Tropes has an exhaustive rundown of all the ways everything’s better with chickens

Chickens — small flight-inhibited birds with a tendency to break out in screeching panics over the smallest things — are inherently funny, like penguins and monkeys, maybe because they’re being Comically Serious. Unlike penguins and monkeys, they’re also regularly eaten (they taste like chicken). And that’s pretty much it. This isn’t really a family of tropes that has a whole heck of a lot of logic behind them.

life goes on even when short a chicken

Well, we are still a bit sad about Shy Chicken’s passing but the other two continue to be as clucky and chickeny as ever. Here you see them in “battleship” mode – they find the dirt soothing and scrabble in it to sit on.  Once seated on the lawn they remind Jason and me of nothing so much as a flotilla of battleships.

I think I’ve convinced Jason to get a couple more because we really don’t have any margin of error socially if another one dies – but we may wait til we get through a longer vacation in the summer before purchasing.  He’d rather be home to get the new ones adjusted.

Offspring Fling
